Sept 16th. PNG Independance Day

Game night with the College of Nursing

Wow! What a great group of students we have here at Kudjip! There are 20-25 students in each level and the program is 3 years. The Chapmans had set up monthly fun times with the students and after hearing about it, I really wanted to be a part! I thought I would bake cookies or something, but Diane let us have the whole night.

We started off teaching them the cup game Ricky, Ticky, Bear. and then played spoons, with pens. Some station kids joined the fun and played with my girls.

I had made cookies that flopped and so we had store bought goodies and candy. We all laughed really hard and had a great time.

Please pray for these students who are learning to be health care providers and will be going all over PNG after graduating taking care of PNG people's physical and spiritual needs.

School with 3

There was a big dead tree in the school yard that needed to come down. So, Allison joined us for homeschool for 3 days last week.

Can you see Livy's scowl? I say 2 out of 3 happy at any given time is pretty good.

Olivia the clown

Olivia, 4 years old, has a strong desire to be a clown when she grows up. She loves the the thought of throwing pies in people's faces.

We saw the clown clothes hanging outside on a barbed wire fence with other clothes for sale. I asked if she would like to have the clown suit, she said "not until I grow up!" But then changed her mind. It was 6 kina, or 2 dollars.

We brought it home and washed it, then from the dress up box came a clown wig and a Rudolph nose and of course face paint!

She is having lots of fun being a clown. It doesn't translate into PNG culture, as there are not any circus's around here or rodeos! But the patients at the hospital always love to see Livy, especially in a clown outfit!
