Connecting in the world...

It would be very easy for my kids to be surrounded by only Christians. We are making intentional situations of where we are "in" the world. Places we can go to shine the light that God puts in our heart. .
The library was having a jewelry making for 3rd-5th graders. Emma was interested and wanted to go. She had a great time.

Can you see Em's dangle-ly earrings? They almost touch her shoulders! She also made a Christmas necklace.

More fun

Girl's night painting pottery. We had the camera so no pictures of the uncles and boy cousins at the hay swings.
After Olivia's haircut, she decided that she wanted "a hair cut every day, even church days".

And reconnecting with friends. What great days!

FREE garage sale!!!

I was so blessed to be able to help Springfield First Nazarene church with their annual free garage sale! They had been organizing for months, and the whole church helped set up tables and put out stuff on Wednesday. Everything was ready for Saturday morning's sale 9-12.
People lined up in the freezing weather at 7:30 am. There was over 600 people that came through! The only rule was "take what you need, leave what you don't". It was amazing to be involved in so many people's lives.
The goal of this outreach was just to be a blessing to people. That's it. Love people like Jesus would!
Everyone got a bag with a new testament bible in it and some information about the church. There were some wrapped presents donated by church members. People could take an addition free bible if they wanted. Also was free oil changes for single parents and people could share any prayer requests they had.

It was an amazing day!

Silver Dollar City rides

We were excited that Olivia was tall enough to ride Thunderation, her first roller coaster. She didn't ask any questions, she was just excited. 1/2 way through the ride she decided this was not what she wanted. After that, she had many many questions before she would consider any other rides. She would only ride if I promised that it was not scary!

Here we are!!!

Left Kudjip 8 am Monday, arrived in Kansas 5pm Wednesday. Jet lagged, but so excited to see family! Camera-less, you'll have to wait for pictures of my (Gail's) family. We spent Thursday and Friday with my family and then went to Springfield, MO, where we have been for a week.
Sunday, after church, we headed to Silver Dollar City with Scott's parents
We all froze in the cold weather as it started raining, so after seeing Santa, we headed for the soon to be warm car.
Thanks for your prayers, we are doing well!

Dr Erin with a patient.
New hospital wards

This is in the treatment room in the out patient department.

Our camera is officially lost and I think it is not to be found. Hence, the absence of blogs and the borrowed pictures. We leave PNG for our four month home assignment on Monday the 23rd. Please pray for our travels.

New hosp 2...

Recovery room. We just got those cupboards moved yesterday, they are from the old hospital. Olivia is getting the old labels off.
Our fancy, smancy scrub sink that works! Great job Mike!
Opertaing Theater (I think that is a British term) or Operating room. It is so nice and new and clean! Through that door is our sterile stock room.
Inside surgical ward. Not a good picture, but it is going to be great!
