WOW! What a fun place. We had a great time looking at the beautiful orchids and learning where they are from in PNG. Here are some of my favorites, some are from SE Asia as well.
Next door to the “adventure park” is an amazing Orchid garden. It also has several types of PNG birds. Our favorite were these Cardinal Lories.
If you live at Kudjip, if you pay several hundred dollars, one hour drive, and one hour flight, you could find your self at Port Moresby. Scott needs to be there for meetings this week. So, we went down early together. I stayed Friday and Saturday and came back Sunday.
We dropped off our things and headed to lunch at Airways.
I love this sandwich, I have got it several times. Now they changed the bagel to oven faced. And the bagel is not a real bagel, more like bread. But all in all it was excellent!
Airways even had a cheese room! The smell reminded me of Uncle Bob’s cheese factory.
Look at this amazing pool! In PNG, if you eat at a restaurant, then you can use the pool. At Airways, it has been many years since this has been true. So, the pool is empty, but looks great.
After 6 hours of shopping (not buying much as the shops remind me that we are not in Kansas),we went to Daikoku, a Japanese steak house for supper. It was good food, not the usual showmanship and flare of other chefs, but it was fun.
We were invited over to our friend’s house on Mothers day. So, after church, we went to Elizabeth and Pradeep. The Ballins were there and we had the most amazing Indian food. I only snapped one good photo of all the girls reading.
Now, just in case you know us…Olivia’s birthday is the 14th, not the 12th. But because Scott and I are going to be gone and the girls are going to have a sleep over at the Kerr’s house, we celebrated early.
It was a fun filled day! Olivia woke up early, but waited in bed, listening to a CD, for breakfast in bed.
Afterschool we had 4 friends over and a Strawberry Shortcake party.
How can it be 6 years ago that I journeyed up the gravel road to the private in patient room to meet Olivia for the first time?
She is a treasure. Every day bringing joy and excitement into our lives.
Happy day dear Livy!
