Through God’s hand, we were able to organize a trip to go and speak at a student conference. It was a 3 hour drive west and north. Steph, Scott, Belinda (a nursing student) and myself headed off at 3pm on Friday.
Smooth road and a beautiful day were part of our day until dark. We don’t drive after dark in PNG because of safety. As dusk fell, so did the rain. Also steam from the hot highway was coming up to add to the difficulty of driving. And the last 1 1/2 hours of driving was no longer a nice highway, but pot holes the size of cars, 2 feet deep and muddy! The passengers often were bounced into the air!
Finally we arrived and went to the 3 hour evening service. About 1000 people, mostly college age, were present. The praise to our God on this Good Friday evening will forever be in my memory. It was an amazing time!
