ART SHOW!
New Tribes Mission Fund Raiser
Several years ago, we happened to go to the NTM station on the Sept 16th weekend, and they had a carnival-like party! Remembering this, we wanted to go again.
We were not disappointed!
Slip and slide, where Scott was a favorite to watch!
Snow cones, cotton candy, obstacle courses, cake walk, trampoline, basketball toss, yummy lunch of cheese burgers and fries! It was a great way to celebrated PNG’s 36 years of Independence!
Independence Weekend at Garoka
To take advantage of the 3 day weekend, we headed to a town 3 hours away for some fun. We convinced some new, wonderful volunteers to go with us.
We knitted, read, and swam.
It was also the Garoka Show, that weekend. From the porch of our flat, we could see all of the groups of PNGer’s dressed up in their traditional dress going to the show!
School days
Church with Pastor John and Rebecka
We traveled down a road that we had not gone down before to get to Rebeka and John’s new church.
It is quite a ways away from station, but a beautiful drive. We got there early, so we visited with the grown up and played with the kids until church started. The metal building is the church. The picture of the bush house is Rebeka and John’s home.
After the service, we went in their home and prayed with Rebeka and John. They are having many challenges lately and would appreciate your prayers as well.
Left home at 9am, returned at 2:30. Busy Sunday!
